Keren Cytter: I was the good and he was the bad and the ugly, Hila Peleg (Ed.), wirth texts by Diederichsen and Avi Pitchon, KW Intitute for Contemporary Art, u. Revolver, Berlin u. Frankfurt am Main, 2006.
"From June to August 2006 KW Institute for Contemporary Art presented the first Berlin solo exhibtion of the artist, writer and filmmaker Keren Cytter with the title I was the good and he was the bad and the ugly. Following this exhibition, we are happy to introduce a book of the same title, with texts by Keren Cytter, Diedrich Diederichsen, Hila Peleg, and Avi Pitchon, published by KW, Berlin and Revolver Verlag, Frankfurt am Main.
Although Keren Cytter's work is shown in galleries and uses video, it would be a mistake to automatically categorize her oeuvre as video art: if anything her most significant contribution to the medium might come from the way she cuts against its grain. (...) Her medium might be called cinema rather then video: She's an auteur as much as an artist." Barry Schwabski in Artforum, October 2006
The exhibition in Berlin as well as the publication are generously supported by the Mondriaan Foundation, Amsterdam."
